An ode to small town life and leaving in order to grow. An ongoing project looking at the working-class struggle of being the first in the family to leave home to pursue an education. The push that tells you to leave home to pursue a new life and the pull that tells you to come home to what is known and safe. But returning home is filled with comfort and reverting back into the teenage self that wants to expand on the four walls that they’ve always known.
If I could keep you here, I would, the title comes from the words my father said to me before leaving for university.
